So as I was peeling potatoes I was thinking about something my step grandmother said on monday at the "family gathering". I emphasise the "step" as their is absoloutly no biological connection between her and I, let alone the rest of the family.
The conversation went a little something like this: Me: "I wouldn't mind studying environmental science, its really interesting and they get to travel around, and the state of our planet its not like there is going to be a shortage of work". My sister: "what do they do?" Evil step grandmother: "they are people that wear "do gooder hats".... from there I am pretty sure I just explained to her that their jobs vary along with a few filthy looks, that most people who piss me off with their stupid comments get.
Now is that an insult? I mean really, who, who in their right mind would "want" to be a "do badder"... If we didn't have environmental scientists, or environmentalists at all, we could have radioactive vegtables on our table, we'd be drinking dirty ass water, and the impact of our vehicles on the atmosphere would not be known, and noone would be aware.
We need do gooders, I personally think do gooders, are pretty freaking amazing. They are the most selfless people, they dedicate their working lives to better our lives and most also dedicate their spare time to it as well.
I really hope that there aren't too many people who think like my grandmother, because we are looking at a pretty grim future.
I have recently come across the Documentry the "Home Project", it explains everything that I am so truly passionate about all in one movie.. 1 and a half hours long.. This should be played world wide, in every school.
Its too late to be a pessimist.

Bring on the Do gooders.. we need more!

Classic. Loved reading your blogs. They are easy to read and follow and you leave out just enough for the imagination to fill in. I'm not an offically recognised literary critic however I do know when to appreciate good writings.
P.S. Pukatja is still cold but Macca is helping to keep my swag warm :)
